We know, it’s kind of tame but we’ll take what we can get. Edgar Wright has posted a picture of what looks like the first official still from his upcoming “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.”
The film stars Michael Cera as the titular Scott Pilgrim who must defeat the seven evil boyfriends of Ramona Flowers, played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, in order to win her hand.
Featured in this picture of a picture is Cera, Winstead, Johnny Simmons who plays Young Neil, Ellen Wong who plays Knives Chau, Alison Pill who plays Kim Pine and Mark Webber who plays Stephen Stills.
Frequenters of Wright’s blog should also be accustomed to his fascination with eyes. Over the past month, he has been posting more pics of “Scott Pilgrim” cast members’ eyes, many shots of them from the movie. Here’s the collection we’ve combined into one neat image.
From top to bottom, we have Cera and Winstead as Pilgrim and Flowers; Webber and Wong as Stills and Chau; Jason Schwartzmann and Mae Whitman as Gideon Graves and Roxy Richter; Pill and Kieran Culkin as Pine and Wallace Wells; and two unknown actors who we assume are Kyle and Ken Katayanagi.
There’s also a funny instance on Wright’s flickr with the image of Culkin. One commenter writes “For a mere second, I thought Wallace was being played by Omar Doom” only to have Doom himself reply not long after with “Wouldn’t that be nice. I’d work with Edgar in a heartbeat!”
Notable co-stars in the film not featured in the two images include the likes of Aubrey Plaza, Brandon Routh, Anna Kendrick, Brie Larson, Chris Evans and Satya Bhabha.
“Scott Pilgrim” is due out next summer, we can’t wait.
