So, you want an idea of just how fast Ben Wheatley works? His latest "Sightseers" just hit theaters in the U.K. last week, but he's already shot his next feature, and we've already had one official still. Well, how about a poster?
Film4 has unviled the first one sheet for what may be Wheatley's most ambitious effort yet, "A Field In England." Set to unspool in both black and white and color, utilizing lenses that Wheatley built himself, this is a trippy period piece that is essentially about a group of deserters from an ongoing war, who consume some magic mushrooms and go on mindbending trip. So, yes, it's a typically highly original and bonkers premise from the filmmaker, another shift in gears, and one we can't wait to check out.
No release date yet, but the poster does promise a 2013 release — perhaps Wheatley will take another run at the Cannes Film Festival where "Sightseers" played in the Directors' Fortnight sidebar? We'll see, but the Un Certain Regard category seems like it would be a good fit. Check out the full poster below.
