Got a Tip?

‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 8: The Gang’s All Here In The First Official Images From The Final Season

No, we still don’t have a “real” trailer for “Game of Thrones” Season 8. It would appear that HBO is perfectly fine with letting the marketing materials arrive at a snail’s pace, and definitely not as fast as a raven. Oh well. At least this time, the network was nice enough to give us some actual content from the massive TV series’ final season. With 14 new photos, fans of “Game of Thrones” now get to see their favorite characters…looking at stuff.

In order to please every ‘Thrones’ fandom, HBO released new images showcasing most of the major characters that will play a crucial role in the upcoming final season. Jon Snow, Dany, Cersei, and others are shown in their regal attire, as they prepare for the biggest battle ever to hit Westeros.

There’s not much else to say about these pictures, as no plot points are spoiled at all. These are basically poster shots of all your faves and not much more. Cersei still looks evil. Dany and Jon are still a bit too close for comfort. And yes, even fan-favorites Samwell Tarly and Ser Davos Seaworth get special recognition. Again, HBO wants to make sure all the fandoms get their representation. Sadly, there’s no Hot Pie, but you can’t win them all, I suppose.

Normally, when a network releases new photos or posters, it’s in preparation for a trailer. That means we’re on the precipice of actually getting footage from the upcoming season. Up until now, the footage seen has been relegated to specially shot teasers and a really odd Budweiser beer ad featuring the Mountain crushing someone’s skull.

One thing we do know about Season 8 is that HBO is going to premiere the first episode on April 14. By my estimation, that means fans are merely a little more than two months away from taking their final journey with these characters through Westeros.
