‘Ticket To Paradise’: George Clooney & Julia Roberts Reunite For A Rom-Com From The Director Of ‘Mamma Mia 2’

Imagine it’s 1998. News is released that George Clooney (the heartthrob from “ER”) is teaming up with Julia Roberts (the actress from “My Best Friend’s Wedding”) to do a rom-com. That’s exciting stuff, right? Well, fast forward 23 years, and guess what? It’s happening!

According to Deadline, George Clooney and Julia Roberts are reuniting to star in a new rom-com titled “Ticket to Paradise,” directed by Ol Parker. Yes, it might seem like a rom-com wth these two probably should have come out 20 years ago (no offense, but it feels like Roberts and Clooney are out of their rom-com days, right?), but they’re still two of the biggest names in Hollywood and people would obviously love to see their charming personas interact with each other on the big screen as much as humanly possible.

“Ticket to Paradise” stars Clooney and Roberts as a divorced couple that team up and travel to Bali to stop their daughter from making the same mistake they made 25 years ago. The script is written by Parker alongside Daniel Pipski. Parker is probably best known as the filmmaker behind the hit musical sequel, “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.”

Clooney and Roberts are no stranger to working together. The duo probably most famously teamed up for the “Ocean’s” films back in the early-‘00s, as well as the 2016 feature “Money Monster.” You have to assume they enjoy each other’s company to keep doing these films together.

Production on “Ticket to Paradise” is expected to begin later this year, which points to a 2022 release date. Universal Pictures and Working Title are the studios behind the film, so it would seem as if this is destined for a big-screen debut. But, obviously, with the way things are going, there’s no telling where “Ticket to Paradise” might debut. One thing is for sure, it better include this song:
