George Lucas In Pre-Production On A CGI-Animated Musical... About Fairies

While the rest of the world is currently drooling over the iPad, it’s been quietly announced over at The Hollywood Reporter that George Lucas is currently in preproduction on an untitled CGI-animated musical.

The film will be directed by Kevin Munroe (“TMNT”) and is based on a script by David Berenbaum (“Elf,” “The Spiderwick Chronicles”) and while details are being kept under strict lock-and-key, the one morsel of information that has emerged is that the story features fairies. Sigh, we wish we were making this up. It’s not known if this is strictly coming from Berenbaum’s pen, but the most likely scenario is that it’s based off an idea by George Lucas who tends to originate most of his projects from his own concepts.

While Lucasfilm are not commenting, do we even have speculate on “if” this thing is going to be in 3D? Lucas also has his plate full with his penned and executive produced WWII saga about the Tuskegee Airmen, “Red Tails” which is currently in post-production and we imagine will be released by the end of the year.
