Got a Tip?

German Actor Michael Fassbender In Talks For ‘Inglorious Bastards’

German Irish actor Michael Fassbender is yet another actor in talks to star in Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglorious Bastards” We say “in talks,” because he hasn’t been cast yet and obviously the film is shifting around quickly with actors like Simon Pegg and David Krumholtz dropping out (though note: the latter not quite confirmed having left the project by trade sources though), but he is apparently in “final negotiations” which sounds like a lock.

Variety says he’s going to take the role exited by Simon Pegg, the British Lieutenant Archie Hicox. Hopefully, Fassbender knows a little German as in the script, his character has a fine command of the Teutonic language.

Fassbender played Stelios in “300,” and according to Variety turned heads with his emaciated role of Bobby Sands in the film “Hunger,” a picture directed by British helmer Steve McQueen that was heralded at Cannes Film Festival earlier this year (McQueen was awarded the prestigious Camera d’Or prize for his first feature debut). Ok, none of us have seen “Hunger” in North America yet (aside from those that were at Cannes), but a real thespian! Atta boy, Quentin! As long as he’s not a comedian or a buddy of yours that can’t act, we’re pretty much happy.
