At the end of the summer, shortly after Netflix renewed their hit series “Stranger Things” for a second season, creators and directors Matt and Ross Duffer gave their fans some anxiety when they declared that Eleven wasn’t certain to return. “We don’t know about Eleven,” Ross Duffer said. “We leave that up in the air.” Well, get those Eggos ready.
TV Line reports that Millie Bobby Brown will indeed be back to play her fan favorite character. Eleven’s fate was left as open question mark at the end of season one, though it seems she’s alive, but under what circumstances we’ll have to wait and see. The trade isn’t certain how many episodes will feature Eleven, but suggest she’ll be a series regular, which makes sense, particularly given her relationship to Mike.
Plot details about the upcoming season are being closely guarded, but what we do know is that it will take place one year later, with the story set in the fall of 1984. And it seems the scope is expanding too, with Matt Duffer teasing earlier this year, “I will say the opening scene [of the premiere] does not take place in Hawkins.” Can’t wait.
“Stranger Things” returns to Netflix in 2017.
