‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ Trailer: Young Kids Pick Up Proton Packs & Bust Ghosts In Jason Reitman’s Sequel

For folks at the recent New York Comic-Con, there was a chance to see the long-awaited “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” as part of the film’s de facto premiere. And judging by the early reviews, the film is either a quality tribute to a beloved franchise or a fan-service film that doesn’t do much than tickle your nostalgia bone.

And as seen in the newest trailer for “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” it’s clear to see how both of those opinions can be accurate. The film picks up decades after “Ghostbusters 2” and follows a young girl that discovers her dead grandpa was an experimental scientist that captured ghosts. And it’s a good thing she figured this out because at that same time, the small town she lives in is on the verge of being completely overrun by supernatural entities. So, what’s a girl to do? Well, steal an old station wagon and some proton packs, and invite her friends to fight ghosts.

The newest “Ghostbusters” film is set to star a cast that includes stars Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, and Paul Rudd. And it wouldn’t be a ‘Ghostbusters’ sequel if there weren’t some familiar faces, and ‘Afterlife’ will also feature appearances by Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts. The newest ‘Ghostbusters’ film is co-written and directed by Jason Reitman, who is the son of the filmmaker behind the first two features, Ivan Reitman.

After a long COVID delay, “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” is set to arrive in theaters on November 19. You can watch the newest trailer below.
