Giovanni Ribisi Lives A Lie In New Trailer For Amazon's 'Sneaky Pete'

The Amazon Pilot program is an unique way to pick which series get produced. Amazon produces a bunch of pilots, and then releases those episodes for viewers to watch and review. Based on reviews, they pick which series they fully produce. “Sneaky Pete” is the most- and highest-reviewed pilot the streaming service has had. Judging by the trailer, it looks like the reviewers got this one right.

In “Sneaky Pete,” viewers are introduced to Marius, played by Giovanni Ribisi, a con man who gets out of prison and assumes the identity of his cell mate. He assumes the false identity so that he can break into a safe and get money to save his brother from a very evil gangster, played by Bryan Cranston, returning to his criminal ways after “Breaking Bad.”

The series has some serious talent surrounding it. Not only do Cranston and Ribisi feature in the cast, but you can also expect to see Margo Martindale, Marin Ireland, Peter Gerety, and Libe Barer. ‘Pete’ is produced by Graham Yost (“The Americans“), with the pilot episode directed by Seth Gordon and written by David Shore.

If the reviews of the pilot are any indication, “Sneaky Pete” looks to be another hit for Amazon as they try to catch up with Netflix. Viewers will be able to judge for themselves when Amazon releases all nine episodes on January 13th.
