Exclusive: Mark Wahlberg Faces Terror In New Images From 'Patriots Day'

On April 15, 2013, the city of Boston became the focus of the world when two bombs exploded near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. What was supposed to be a day celebrating athletes coming together from all over the world turned in one of tension and horror, as a massive manhunt unfolded to catch the perpetrators. And that story is hitting the big screen in Peter Berg‘s “Patriots Day,” which sees the director reteam with star Mark Wahlberg following “Lone Survivor” and “Deepwater Horizon.”

A film we called “a deeply immersive experience that plants you at the front lines to show what happened,” the drama brings together Kevin Bacon, J.K. Simmons, John Goodman, Melissa Benoist and Michelle Monaghan to tell the story of what happened on the fateful day, with the story told through the eyes of Police Sergeant Tommy Saunders (Wahlberg) as he joins the race against the clock to see justice done. Meanwhile, the formidable duo of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross provide the score.
