When a band has to decide which filmmaker is going to helm their latest music video, normally they’ll have some dream names that will likely never come to fruition. For years now, the combination of Haim and Paul Thomas Anderson has been going strong, with filmmaker helming a number of the band’s music videos. And just recently, they collaborated one more time, with the video for the song “Now I’m in It.” The video, much like the previous ones is fairly light on narrative and tends to evoke a bit more of a style and look that is unmistakably a reflection of both Haim and Anderson.

As mentioned, Haim and Anderson are no strangers. The filmmaker has helmed numerous videos for the band, as well as filmed their Coachella performance from 2018. Just a few months ago, Anderson and the sisters released the music video for “Summer Girls.”

And when we spoke to Anderson back during the press tour for “Phantom Thread,” he explained why he and Haim keep working on projects, saying, “I do music videos because the Haim girls are in my life. As long as they’re around, I’ll hopefully be doing music videos for them.”

Obviously, no matter what band you are, if you have Paul Thomas Anderson willing to do every music video you release, you take advantage of that.
