We’ve known since the beginning that the “Harry Potter” TV series would face an uphill battle when it comes to casting. The actors from the film series are iconic as the characters. According to Variety, actor Mark Rylance is being eyed to play Dumbledore in the “Harry Potter” TV series. For those who don’t follow “Harry Potter,” Dumbledore is the headmaster at Hogwarts. He’s a crucial part of the story. In the films, he was portrayed by two wonderful actors. First, Richard Harris played the role and was beloved. After his unexpected passing, the role was given to Michael Gambon for the remainder of the film series.

Rylance is an Oscar-winning actor and star of numerous high-profile films. He won his Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in “Bridge of Spies.” He is no stranger to TV work, either. The actor was nominated for both a Golden Globe and Emmy for his work on the British series, “Wolf Hall.”
