With Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio and Christoph Waltz in the lead roles of “Django Unchained,” Quentin Tarantino can pretty much cast whoever the fuck he wants in the rest of the movie, so no surprise he’s been favoring smaller/forgotten/veteran/cult names for the rest of the parts. And now he’s added another.

Horror guru Tom Savini has landed the part of Elvis Brittle in the spaghetti western revenge flick according to the Coventry Telegraph. Savini is a familiar face in QT’s universe, having memorably appeared as Sex Machine in “From Dusk ‘Til Dawn” penned by Tarantino, as well as acting in Robert Rodriguez‘s “Planet Terror” and “Machete.” Genre fans know him best as being the man behind the special effects for such movies as George A. Romero‘s “Living Dead” flicks, “Creepshow,” “Friday The 13th” and more and is a familiar face in countless B-movies, earning him a pretty steady following. In ‘Django’ he’ll share screen time with M.C. Gainey as two of the three Brittles, the redneck outlaws who sold off Django and Broomhilda, who Schultz is tracking. It’s a pretty good fit as far as casting goes.

The cast is rounded out by Dennis Christopher, Kurt Russell, Laura Cayouette and Don Johnson. Pre-production is already underway and “Django Unchained” hits theaters on Christmas Day 2012.
