Got a Tip?

Irvine Welsh Recruits Sean Bean, Dougray Scott And Robert Vaughan For Modern Adaptation Of ‘The Magnificent Seven’

Renowned Scottish author-turned-director Irvine Welsh (“Trainspotting”) has recruited Sean Bean, Dougray Scott and Robert Vaughan for his gritty modern adaptation of classic Western “The Magnificent Seven.”

Retitled “The Magnificent Eleven,” the story, which was scribed by Welsh and the father-son team of Pete and John Adams, will substitute the rivalry between cowboys and bandits in the original for a feud between two soccer teams, a local amateur team made up of workers from a nearby Tandoori restaurant and a team of menacing thugs led by a maniac named Blonde Bob.

“Having worked with Irvine Welsh on his feature film ‘Good Arrows,’ I am certain that the team we have assembled for ‘The Magnificent Eleven’ can deliver a quality feature film with massive commercial potential,” writer John Adams noted.

Interestingly, Vaughan is the last surviving cast member from “The Magnificent Seven.” It’s not known what role Vaughan, Bean or Scott will play.
