Jennifer Aniston & Adam Sandler To Team For First Time; Andy Daly Playing 'Yogi Bear' Villain

— Despite being generally poor-to-bad in most of her movie work, Jennifer Aniston has had enough “Marley & Me” sized hits to continue to be a draw, and she’s now likely to play the titular “Pretend Wife” in a new romantic comedy, opposite Adam Sandler. The plot of the script, by the prolific Allan Loeb (Aniston’s upcoming “The Baster”) and Timothy Dowling (“Role Models”) is “being kept under wraps,” but I think we can all take a wild stab from the title what it’ll involve… Sandler’s regular helmer Dennis Dugan will helm, completing the triangle of mediocrity. If anyone truly cares, Pajiba has the “secret” logline.

— “Parks & Recreation” has, in its second season, gone from the poor cousin of “The Office” to one of the strongest entries in the best line ups of sitcoms that’s been on TV in years. Writer Alan Yang, who’s on the staff of the show, has sold his script “Jackpot” to 20th Century Fox. The script is described as a teen take on “21,” about a group of high school kids who win the lottery.

— Actor/comedian Andy Daly, best known for playing Cutler on “Eastbound and Down,” will play the villain in “Yogi Bear.” Daly will play Mayor Brown, who “uses the city budget for his personal fun, drives the city into bankruptcy and comes up with the idea of selling Jelly Stone Park to fix his mess.” Ooh, topical! Daly will be up against Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake, who will voice Yogi and Boo-Boo, and their human allies Anna Faris, Tom Cavanaugh (TV’s “Ed”) and TJ Miller (“Cloverfield”).

— Almost certainly not coming to a theater near you is the independent sci-fi movie “Scavengers.” Scottish actress Louise Linton (“Lions for Lambs”) and Old Young Indiana Jones/former albino psychic Sean Patrick Flanery play rival captains of space scavenger ships, who discover an alien vessel. Look for it at 4am on Syfy three years from now.
