Tarantino Stars In Japanese SoftBank Cell Phone Ad

You probably heard about this SoftBank phone ad that Quentin Tarantino starred in a few weeks ago and it’s finally made it’s way online. Like Bill Murray’s character in “Lost In Translation” earning a king’s ransom for a two minute commercial, Softbanks seems to have deep, deep pockets as they’ve already lured in Wes Anderson and Brad Pitt to do a cell phone ad (shot in the style of Jacques Tati’s whimsical 1953 classic, “Mr. Hulot’s Holiday“), plus Spike Jonze and Pitt to make another. Why do Americans star in advertising in Japan? See above, they make a shit-ton of dough for an afternoon’s work. So Quentin is the latest to star in a SoftBank ad as some kind of (overweight) samurai. See if this one makes any sense to you. QT can suuure act.
