It’s hard to believe, but we’re almost exactly two years past the debut of “Tiger King” on Netflix. That docuseries would go on to capture the cultural zeitgeist in a way very few series do in a year. And now, even after Netflix released a sequel series and a spinoff, already, Peacock is ready to retell the story with a talented group of actors in the new series, “Joe vs. Carole.”
As seen in the new teaser for “Joe vs. Carole,” the series features John Cameron Mitchell perfectly cast as Joe Exotic, the owner of a roadside zoo, who finds himself at odds with Carole Baskin, played by Kate McKinnon. And yes, it’s still the same story we all know and love.

Based on the Wondery podcast “Joe Exotic,” hosted and reported by Robert Moor, the limited series will center on Carole Baskin, a big cat enthusiast, who learns that fellow exotic animal lover Joe “Exotic” Schreibvogel is breeding and using his big cats for profit. She sets out to shut down his venture, inciting a quickly escalating rivalry. But Carole has a checkered past of her own and when the claws come out, Joe will stop at nothing to expose what he sees as her hypocrisy. The results prove dangerous.
