Joseph Quinn‘s busy film slate gets even busier. Deadline reports that one of Hollywood’s fastest-rising stars adds another upcoming movie to his roster: an untitled war pic from A24, with Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza co-directing. No word on if this is a sequel to Garland’s “Civil War,” which hits theaters on April 12, but Mendoza was military supervisor on that film, so there could be a connection.

Along with sharing directing duties, Garland and Mendoza also co-write the film’s script. Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich produce the project through DNA, with Peter Rice also producing. As for Quinn, he joins a cast that currently only holds another Hollywood up-and-comer: Charles Melton. Stay tuned for more casting news on this one soon.
Whatever this war movie is, its addition to Quinn’s projects makes his future filmography even more stacked. Last week, Marvel Studios confirmed Quinn’s casting as Johnny Storm in their upcoming “Fantastic Four” film, which shoots this summer. But before then, Quinn stars next in “A Quiet Place: Day One,” in theaters this June. Then in November, the actors stars Ridley Scott‘s “Gladiator 2,” playing one of the twin Emperors in the sequel. But Quinn isn’t signed on to only big-budget films either: he’ll also star in Brad Easton Ellis‘ directorial debut “Relapse,” a psychological thriller about social media.
Other recent work for Quinn includes the 2023 British film “Howard” and two BBC One series: “Howards End” and “Les Miserables.”
With Alex Garland already planning to shoot his next movie this year, it’s safe to say that A24 firmly believes they have a hit on their hands with “Civil War.” And for Quinn, his Hollywood star keeps rising. Just two years out from his breakout role as Eddie Munson in “Stranger Things,” the kid is going places.
