With movies like “Hellboy,” “Men in Black,” “Charlie’s Angels,” and a handful of Disney classics, 2019 seems to be the year of the reboot. We’re clocking in one more with “Jumanji: The Next Level” before the year’s end. And what better way to promote a new action-comedy blockbuster than with the world’s quietest trailer? If you need a refresher on what ASMR actually is, here you go.
With the tragic death of Robin Williams in 2014, creating a soft reboot of one of his movies a mere three years later seemed like a huge risk. But it paid off and Dwyane Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillian are reprising their roles as avatars in the video game version of ‘Jumanji.’ The sequel to “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” sees our four teens Madison Iseman, Alex Wolff, Morgan Turner, and Ser’Darius Blain drawn once again to the world of the video game, with no choice but to go back in.

However, this time Hart and Johnson have leveled up. Instead of playing avatars to two teens playing the game, they’re hosts to Danny Glover and Danny Devito’s characters, who appear to be playing “frenemies.” After starring in multiple movies together, Hart and Johnson have fun chemistry with one another. Watching these two tackle this challenge together is bound to be a joy on screen.
Here’s the official synopsis:
In Jumanji: The Next Level, the gang is back but the game has changed. As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect. The players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snowy mountains, in order to escape the world’s most dangerous game.
“Jumanji: The Next Level” hits theaters December. 13. Nick Jonas and Colin Hanks are reprising their roles from 2017 in this film. Awkwafina joins the cast this time around in a currently undisclosed role. Take a look/listen at the latest trailer below.
