“Jurassic Park III” really throws caution to the wind. When you have a film where the human characters can outsmart the most clever dinosaur, velociraptor, and deter the predators attack, your film has gone too far. When we go back and look at the original trilogy, everything that follows the original wonder and horror of “Jurassic Park” is mostly tolerable, but rarely as enjoyable. Harkening back to the words of Jeff Goldblum‘s Dr. Ian Malcolm, “Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn’t stop to think if they should.” Keeping the “Jurassic Park” films alive is an admirable gesture to the original. But if you keep bringing the dinosaurs back, and they keep eating you, then maybe it’s time to stop.
