In an interview with journalist Sebas Trebany, director Colin Trevorrow revealed that he’s specifically planned for more with the upcoming “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom“saying that “it’s designed for people  who want to know what’s going to happen next.” ‘Fallen Kingdom’s’ full tyrannosaurus-sized synopsis is below:

It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.

When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.

Sitting in the director’s chair this time is “The Orphanage” and “A Monster Calls” helmer J.A. Bayona. Trevorrow returns to co-write the screenplay with frequent collaborator Derek Connolly.

In addition to Pratt and Howard, B.D. Wong will also be reprising his role from the 2015 film. “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” will introduce new characters played by Ted Levine, Daniella Pineda, James Cromwell, Justice Smith, Rafe Spall, Toby Jones, and Geraldine Chaplin. And, thank the gods above, Jeff Goldblum will be returning to the franchise for the first time in 20 years as Dr. Ian Malcolm. Universal will release ‘Fallen Kingdom’ on June 22nd.
