'The Mandalorian': Katee Sackhoff Brings Her 'Clone Wars' Character To Live-Action In Season 2

We are still months away from the premiere of “The Mandalorian” Season 2, but the news about the Disney+ live-action “Star Wars” series keeps on coming. We know that the new season is adding a whole bunch of new faces, headlined by the additions of Rosario Dawson, Michael Biehn, and Temuera Morrison (who is either playing Boba Fett or perhaps a character named Rex, it’s unknown). But now it appears that Katee Sackhoff is joining the cast, as well, but she’s doing something that hasn’t really been done before in the “Star Wars” universe.

According to /Film, Sackhoff has joined the cast of “The Mandalorian” to play the character known as Bo-Katan Kryze. That name might sound familiar to those who watch the animated “Star Wars” series ‘The Clone Wars’ and ‘Rebels,’ as Bo-Katan was featured in multiple episodes of both. And interestingly enough, the character in the animated series was actually voiced by Sackhoff, making her the rare “Star Wars” actor that has made the leap from animated voice to full-blown, live-action.

If you’re not someone that has ventured into the “Star Wars” animated universe, Bo-Katan is a Mandalorian warrior that seems to always be featured when the Darksaber is involved. She’s a revered warrior that has been in possession of the powerful weapon on multiple occasions. And considering the finale of Season 1 of “The Mandalorian” featured the Darksaber in the hands of Moff Gideon, it’s only fitting that the character is coming to join the fun.

Sackhoff is probably best known for her role in the sci-fi series “Battlestar Galactica.” She’s also been seen in films such as “Riddick” and “Oculus,” as well as TV series such as “Longmire,” “24,” and the recent Netflix release, “Another Life.”

“The Mandalorian” is expected to return in October on Disney+.
