'Unhinged' Trailer: Russell Crowe's New Thriller Is Poised To Be The First Film To Exclusively Debut In Theaters Since March

For weeks now, we’ve all had July 17 marked on our calendars for when Christopher Nolan’sTenet” opens in theaters and cinemas such as AMC, Regal, and Cinemark, along with the rest of the United States’ movie theaters are back in business. (As optimistic as that may seem.) But what we didn’t expect was Russell Crowe would come in and steal the thunder with a new film, “Unhinged,” which is going to beat “Tenet” to theaters by two weeks.

As seen in the trailer for the film, Crowe stars as a guy that is, uh, slightly unhinged after a woman honks her horn and passes him on the road. Sure, he might have been in the wrong, but the guy catches up with the lady and asks for an apology. As you might guess, the apology isn’t coming and thus, the man goes a bit crazy.

And yes, the film is actually going to be the first feature film to be shown exclusively in theaters since the pandemic shut down cinemas in March. Though, let’s be honest, it’s unlikely that “Unhinged” will have nearly as much impact as Nolan’s new feature. The fact remains, Russell Crowe’s film is currently scheduled to be the first.

The film stars Crowe alongside Caren Pistorius, Gabriel Bateman, Jimmi Simpson, and Austin P. McKenzie. “Unhinged” is directed by Derrick Borte. Before this new thriller, the filmmaker was probably best known for his recent films “American Dreamer” and “London Town.” He debuted back in 2009 with the feature “The Joneses.”

“Unhinged” is set to arrive in theaters on July 1. We’ll see how well that goes. Let’s hope for the best.
