Kathryn Hahn Joins Rian Johnson's 'Knives Out' Sequel

2021 has been a pretty great year for Kathryn Hahn thanks to her fan-favorite role in “WandaVision.” The veteran actress is no stranger to TV series or major films, but her fame reached new heights, turning her reactions in “WandaVision” into memes. And now, she’s set to cash in some of that newfound pop culture cache and land a role in the upcoming “Knives Out” sequel.

According to Deadline, Kathryn Hahn is the latest actor to join Rian Johnson’s ensemble cast for the forthcoming “Knives Out” sequel. The untitled film doesn’t have an official plot synopsis yet, but over the past few days, we’ve started to learn which A-list actors Johnson is bringing in to star opposite Daniel Craig in the latest adventure featuring sleuth Benoit Blanc. Hahn is joining a cast that already includes Dave Bautista, Janelle Monae, and Edward Norton. Though, to be honest, this is just the initial round of casting, as we can fully expect even more big names joining in the days and weeks to come.

In addition to her role in “WandaVision,” Hahn is also known for her comedic chops in films such as “Bad Moms,” “Step Brothers,” and “We’re the Millers.” But she’s also been branching out into more dramatic fare recently with roles in acclaimed projects such as “Private Life” and the HBO series, “Mrs. Fletcher” and “I Know This Much Is True.”

The sequel to “Knives Out” is part of a new deal that Johnson signed with Netflix that brings the new franchise to the streaming service. The massive deal, reportedly worth more than $400 million, is set to include two new features in the franchise, both written and directed by Johnson, with Craig in the starring role.

A release date for “Knives Out 2” has yet to be announced.
