The more things change, the more they stay the same….or something. Bryan Singer is gearing up "X-Men: Apocalypse" for a spring shoot in Montreal, and we’re seeing a lot of young faces taking on the roles of established mutants. And it’s actually a pretty terrific ensemble getting together for this one, with Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Oscar Isaac, Evan Peters, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, and Alexandra Shipp as part of the new school cast, with Ian McKellen reportedly returning in some capacity. And now, the group is growing one larger.
Kodi Smit-McPhee ("The Road," "Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes") has bagged the role of Nightcrawler in the movie. It certainly suggests a different tenor from Alan Cumming‘s more flamboyant role, perhaps more introspective and pained than flashy. But Smit-McPhee is a great talent, so we’re excited to see what he can do with the character.
Meanwhile, Singer has also dropped some mysterious, fuzzy concept art on his Instagram. Check it out below, share your theories, and we’ll see you on May 27, 2016 when ‘Apocalypse’ opens.
