'Krypton' Trailer: Welcome To Superman's World On Syfy

So, you’d think that a show called “Krypton” might involve Superman. Wrong. The Man Of Steel can currently only be seen on the big screen, or in appearances on “Supergirl,” but if you want to know all about Kal-El’s world, you’ve come to the right place.

The upcoming Syfy series counts “The Dark Knight” writer David S. Goyer among its executive producers, and it involves a fairly high-flying premise. “Although it takes place centuries ago on Krypton, it’s about a conspiracy from the present to travel back in time to prevent Superman’s legacy from ever happening,” DC exec Geoff Johns said at San Diego Comic Con last summer.

Part of that story will involve the introduction of Adam Strange, and will follow Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe) as he tries to keep the house of Krypton in order. And plans are ambitious, with showrunner Cameron Welsh noting at the Television Critics Association winter press tour (via Screen Rant) that they “roughly have a seven-to-eight-year plan” for the series.

“This is an untold story and time travel is involved. History could be changed and what happens in this story can be very different from the backstory people know,” Goyer added. Oh, and one more thing — “Krypton” will not be connected to the DC shows on The CW.

“Krypton” takes flight on March 21st.
