‘Les Nôtres’ Trailer: Canadian Filmmaker Jeanne Leblanc’s Teen Pregnancy Suburban Drama Arrives In June

After initially premiering at the Les Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma Festival in early 2020, Canadian filmmaker Jeanne Leblanc‘s suburban drama “Les Nôtres” has finally landed a wide release date. Courtesy of Oscilloscope Laboratories, the film will release day and date on VOD and in theaters on June 18. Oscilloscope has also debuted a poster and a trailer, which can be seen below.

Taking place in the quiet town of Sainte-Adeline, Quebec, the drama centers around Magalie (played by Émilie Bierre), a young high school student who harbors a personal secret that has the power to upend the social sanctity of her life and her community. The film also stars Marianne Farley, Judith Baribeau, and Paul Doucet.

Here is the official synopsis:

To the tight-knit community of Sainte-Adeline, Quebec, Magalie (Émilie Bierre) appears as a normal suburban high school sophomore surrounded by friends. But this popular teenage girl is harboring a shocking secret: she’s pregnant. When Magalie refuses to identify the father, suspicions among the townsfolk come to a boiling point, and the layers of a carefully maintained social varnish eventually crack.

“Les Nôtres” is director Jeanne Leblanc’s follow-up effort to her debut feature “Isla Blanca,” which also premiered at the RVQC Festival in 2018. Leblanc shares writing credits with Judith Baribeau, marking her inaugural feature screenwriting role after an impressive 20-year acting career (including now both of Leblanc’s films).

“Les Notres” was produced by Benoit Beaulieu and Marianne Farley for SLYKID & SKYKID. Oscilloscope is handling domestic distribution. Check out the brand new poster and trailer below.
