Lionsgate Wants To Make Seven 'Power Rangers' Movies If They Can

There are a lot of people nostalgically invested in the “Power Rangers” movie. I am not one of those people, and for the life of me, I never got the attraction to the pretty crappy live-action TV show, the toys, or anything connected with it. On a call with analysts today, the studio said they want to make as many as “five, six or seven of them” when asked about the “Power Rangers” movie. And in this era of cinematic universes, and squeezing every last dollar out of branded movies and licensed products as you can, the news is hardly a surprise. Though it’ll ultimately be audiences who vote on whether the interest is out there in the general public to make such a grand plan possible, or if Lionsgate is merely chasing a dream lined in multi-colored dollar signs.

Starring Dacre Montgomery, RJ Cyler, Naomi Scott, Becky G, Ludi Lin, and Elizabeth Banks, “Power Rangers” arrives on March 24, 2017. [HeyUGuys]
