It seems the Rome Film Festival loves YA adaptations. Last year, the fest hosted the world premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2” (even though by time it screened, U.K. press had started running their reviews). And this year, they’ve landed another big blockbuster for their screens.
“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” has been announced for an Out Of Competition slot at the fest, though the press release doesn’t state whether or not this will be the world premiere. Either way, it will screen on November 14th, a full week before it arrives in theatres around the world on November 22nd, so everyone lucky enough to nab a ticket in Rome will be able to scream “First!” Either way, it’s a big launch for movie which is already expected to make close to $1 billion dollars. Ball is in your court, Francis Lawrence.
Meanwhile, the sequel “The Hunger Games: Mockingay” keeps casting up with Petina Miller landing the role of Commander Paylor. To Wiki for a description: “Commander Paylor was the leader among the rebels in District 8, and later becomes the president of Panem.” There you go.
So until we find out what happens next to Katniss and co, here are batch of new images from the film.
