With all the fuss over the director issues on the “Han Solo” movie, it’s meant that the actual next “Star Wars” movie in theaters, Episode VII, aka “The Last Jedi,” has gotten to fly a little under the radar of late, with little real news over the summer except the excellent behind-the-scenes reel debuted at D23 a month or so ago. But with the film now just four months away, the summer blockbusters out of the way, and a new trailer expected to drop soon, the marketing blitz is about to gear up again, and it’s begun with the movie debuting some new images in the Fall Preview issue of Entertainment Weekly.
The outlet will be running a host of “Star Wars” stories across the rest of the week, and that begins with some new glimpses of the film’s returning cast — Daisy Ridley as Rey, Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, John Boyega as Finn, and Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, with Ridley and, of course, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker covering the magazine.

We also get a look of super-talented director Rian Johnson on set (including one of him directing Carrie Fisher in her final role), and also a glimpse of a key location in the movie — ‘The Casino’ at Canto Bight, which will be a destination of Finn and new character Rose (Kelly Marie Tran). EW are hinting at lots more to come, with Luke described as someone “overpowered with regret,” so we’ll update as new info comes in, but for now, you can take a look at their new images below. The film opens on December 15th.
