'Mad Max: Fury Road' Star Abbey Lee To Journey To 'The Dark Tower' With Idris Elba And Matthew McConaughey

Ruben Guthrie Abbey LeeYou may not know the name Abbey Lee, but it’s one to keep an eye on. The Aussie actress hasn’t wasted time landing roles in some big movies, including George Miller‘s "Mad Max: Fury Road" (she was The Dag), and Nicolas Winding Refn‘s upcoming "The Neon Demon" (and yes, "Gods Of Egypt"). Now she’s got the biggest part of her young career.

Deadline reports that Lee is in talks to play Tirana in the massive project that will encompass multiple feature films as well as a TV series. She’ll be joining Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey, who play Roland Deschain and The Man In Black, respectively, in the Nikolaj Arcel ("The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo," "A Royal Affair") directed movie, which will focus on "The Gunslinger."

"The Dark Tower" is slated to open on January 13, 2017, but considering cameras haven’t rolled yet, I’m assuming that date might get pushed back. And for those of you who have read the book(s), what do you think about the casting?
