‘Man Of Tomorrow’: Pierce Brosnan “Heard” Doctor Fate Showing Up In ‘Superman’ Sequel, Open To Reprising DC Hero

Actor Pierce Brosnan previously dabbled in the world of DC Comics, playing the heroic and powerful figure Doctor Fate in Dwayne Johnson‘s “Black Adam,” and there is a good chance the character is going to be coming back to live-action in the foreseeable future after some recent comments from the actor teasing Fate being in James Gunn‘s “Man of Tomorrow.”

In a new interview with GQ Magazine, Brosnan was quick to say he’s not going out of his way to work with Marvel Studios for hypothetical projects, but sounds real open to the idea of coming back to the part of Fate and teased interest for the character to be part of a solo project alongside hinting he the hero may appear in the “Superman” sequel, “Man of Tomorrow.”

UPDATE: Sadly, it looks like Brosnan might be listening to the wrong Hollywood channels or internet rumors, as DC Studios co-CEO and director of the sequel, James Gunn, has taken to social media to debunk the claim concerning Dr. Fate being in his movie. When asked about the rumbling on Threads, Gunn stated in a post, “My opinion is I’ve never heard a Dr Fate rumor!”

“No, I’m not,” Brosnan told GQ when asked by the outlet about him itching to do a Marvel film after working on “Black Adam” and the world of superheroes, before hinting that more Doctor Fate could be happening. “I’ve never banged down anyone’s door. I mean, they know where to find me. I’ve heard that [Doctor Fate] was going to have his own show or his own movie. I’ve heard that he’s going to be in the next Superman.”

Would he want to get involved with those DC projects and return to the role of Fate? “I enjoyed that, the philosophy of that character, very much, and I would definitely be open to it,” the actor said when the topic of return to Fate was brought up.

We’re unsure if Brosnan has actually been talking to DC Studios/Gunn or simply relaying internet rumors, but it certainly sounds like the veteran actor, known for playing James Bond, is open to the idea of reprising his role introduced in “Black Adam” in the greater DCU moving forward, and Gunn certainly knows how to reach him.
