Overture Films have picked up domestic rights to Grant Heslov’s “The Men Who Stare At Goats.” The stars, among others, George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges and is based on the story surrounding the existence of a secret, psychic military unit whose aims to use paranormal powers to end war. Internet Sketch Group Derrick Comedy has had its debut feature film picked up for distribution. “Mystery Team” screened at the Sundance Film Festival and has now been picked up Lionsgate’s indie arm, Roadside Attractions. [/Film]

Steve Brill is set for helm two upcoming comedy projects. The first is an untitled comedy pitch revolves around a wealthy older couple who, after losing all their money in a Wall Street Ponzi scheme are forced to move in with their loser son. The second, titled “Last Semester,” is about a Harvard couple who decide to temporarily break up and date other people in their final semester for the total “college experience.” [Variety]
