‘X’: Mia Goth & Kid Cudi To Star In Ti West’s Upcoming A24 Film

It’s been four years since filmmaker Ti West has released a film, with 2016’s “In a Valley of Violence,” being his last feature. Since then, the genre filmmaker has worked extensively in TV, on series such as “The Exorcist,” “Wayward Pines,” “Chambers,” and most recently, “Tales from the Loop.” But it appears he’s ready to hop back to feature filmmaking, with the upcoming film “X.”

According to Deadline, Ti West is set to write and direct “X” for A24 and BRON Studios. The film is set to star Mia Goth and Scott Mescudi, aka rapper Kid Cudi. Actress Jenna Ortega is also in negotiations to star. Unfortunately, we’re not sure what “X” will be about, as plot details are being kept under wraps, but knowing West’s past films, we can only assume it’s going to be pretty violent and possibly scary.

In addition to his TV work and the Western “In a Valley of Violence,” West is probably best known for his features “The Innkeepers,” “The Sacrament,” and his breakout film, “The House of the Devil.” Genre film fans have been keeping up with West, as he has seemingly switched genres with almost every single project, covering grindhouse, horror, cults, and the aforementioned Western.

Mia Goth is probably best known for her recent roles in features such as “A Cure for Wellness,” “Suspira,” “High Life,” and this year’s “Emma.” Her next feature is the upcoming action film, “Mayday.” Kid Cudi has been in a number of recent projects, including Luca Guadagnino’s HBO series, “We Are Who We Are,” and the sci-fi hit, “Westworld,” as well as the film, “Bill & Ted Face the Music.” Ortega is a young actress that recently appeared in the Netflix horror film, “The Babysitter: Killer Queen” and is set to star in the upcoming “Scream 5.”

There’s no release date set for “X” but production is expected to begin sometime in early 2021.
