Screenwriter Chris Morgan has spoken of his upcoming project “47 Ronin.” “The story is about these samurai whose lord is killed in an unfair way… It’s this great, ‘Gladiator’-esque, ‘300′-like big action movie with samurai and ninja.” Of the story’s significance, Morgan added: “The 47 Ronin’ is a true story that took place around 1700-1701. It’s a time in Japanese culture when it was all about [the] bushido [code] and honor, and putting internal things over external things — swords that were made to be functional instead of ornamental, that kind of stuff.” All this from the writer of “Fast & Furious” and “Wanted.” Japanese culture, prepare to be insulted. Michael Madsen, Rachel Hunter and Jennifer Tisdale are starring in “Nictophobia,” a horror thriller directed by Doug Elford-Argent. The film follows a murderer, played by Madsen, who terrorizes a trio of people who, in real estate parlance, flip properties. We were going to congratulate Madsen on getting some work but his IMDB page is packed to the brim with projects. Unfortunately, none of which we’ve ever heard of. [THR]
