'Miracle Workers' Trailer: Steve Buscemi Plays A Laid Back God In New TBS Comedy

There are many film fans that already consider actor Steve Buscemi a god. But the new TBS series, “Miracle Workers,” takes the idea to a whole different level, casting the actor as the literal big man up in the sky.

In the new teaser for “Miracle Workers,” we get a brief glimpse at how Buscemi is going to approach his version of God. And unsurprisingly, he brings a very Steve Buscemi feeling to the higher power, as he explains how it would be a lot easier to help answer people’s prayers if they’d just call the natural disasters by their logical names, such as “Spinny Spinny,” “Wooshy Wooshy,” and “Shakey Shakey.” You get the idea.

Now, even if Buscemi wasn’t enough to get you interested in this new comedy series, “Miracle Workers” has a great supporting cast headlined by ‘Harry Potter’ actor Daniel Radcliffe as an angel working under God. Then you have Geraldine Viswanathan, who clearly stole the show in “Blockers,” and Karan Soni, best known for his role as the lovable taxis cab driver in “Deadpool.”

Adding to this all-star group of talent is the creator-producer of the series, Simon Rich. For those not aware of Rich’s work, the writer is probably best known for his FXX comedy “Man Seeking Woman,” as well as his screenwriting work on films like “Inside Out” and “Secret Life of Pets.”

“Miracle Workers” premieres on TBS on February 12, 2019.

Here’s the synopsis:

A comedy set in the offices of Heaven Inc. When God plans to destroy the Earth, two low-level angels must convince their boss to save humanity. They bet him they can pull off their most impossible miracle yet: help two humans fall in love.
