‘My Spy: The Eternal City’ Trailer: Dave Bautista Returns To His Spy Comedy Series On July 18

Peter Segal has finally returned with his long-awaited sequel to “My Spy,” which was released over four years ago. “My Spy: The Eternal City” has gotten both heavy hitters back: Dave Bautista and Chole Coleman. Dave Bautista, for quite some time, has discussed his interest in rom-coms and his desire to star in the comedy, and here, his wish seems granted with him returning as the endearing spy he played before JJ.

“My Spy: Eternal City” has a new locale to explore this time: Italy. JJ (Bautista) decides to go on a school trip with Sophie (Chole Coleman) to Europe, but things get stopped when a terrorist problem ensues, and it is, once again, up to JJ and Sophie to take care of it. For fans of Dave Bautista, action comedies, or even “Guardians Of The Galaxy,” “My Spy: Eternal City” should be on your radar.

On top of Bautista and Coleman, the cast includes Kristen Schaal, Ken Jeong, Anna Faris, Craig Robinson, and Flula Borg. “My Spy: The Eternal City” is written and directed by Peter Segal and co-written by Jon Hoeber and Erich Hober.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Back by popular demand, My Spy’s dynamic duo, veteran CIA operative JJ (Dave Bautista) and his 14-year-old stepdaughter and protégé Sophie (Chloe Coleman), reunite to save the world when a high school choir tour of Italy is interrupted by a nefarious nuclear plot targeting the Vatican.

“My Spy: The Eternal City” arrives on Prime Video on July 18.
