Spooky Season is in full swing, and it’s a good month if you’re a big fan of scary movies that lean towards genres like horror or thrillers. A new thriller from Netflix, “Hypnotic,” should appeal to folks looking to be scared with their media consumption, as the new pic will drop later this month, and the streaming giant has released a trailer (See below).
A stylishly shot pic, “Hypnotic,” focuses on a Portland woman in need of a hypnotherapist after experiencing multiple traumatic events. Their interactions lead to a dangerous mind game instead of the road to recovery.
From the footage shown in the trailer, the film gives off vibes of the Danny Boyle film “Trance,” but this one seemingly is tipping its toes more in the horror/slasher realm, and hypnotherapy has been used in films like “Exorcist II: The Heretic.”
