Hopefully by now you’ve watched the first red band “Alien: Covenant” trailer (terrifying) and read our footage report of two scenes that press were able to witness (illuminating). Director Ridley Scott looks like he’s coming back with a vengeance. But as unsettling as the new movie looks — a visceral return to hard-R horror — one has to ask themselves: isn’t this same story over and over again? A group of “heroes” who find themselves among aliens, there’s a traitorous android with his own agenda, usually some kind of company man, and then everyone gets picked off one by one, ten little Indians style (until the lone survivor defeats them all). Hopefully “Alien: Covenant” provides a little bit more. Here’s the official synopsis:

“Alien: Covenant” stars Katherine Waterston and Michael Fassbender, plus Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, and Benjamin Rigby.
