Fresh off its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival and the Fall festival circuit, Luca Guadagnino’s “Bones And All” is ready to hit US theaters by storm. And imagine Guadagino’s latest as a marriage of his past two films: the swooning romance of “Call Me By Your Name” meets the grotesque horrors of “Suspiria.” Not enticed yet? Maybe a new extended red band clip from the film will whet the appetite.
In the clip below, Maren leaves her home secretly to attend a sleepover with friends from her new school. But Maren cannot hide her insatiable appetites, and the truth of who she is suddenly comes out. This clip has content that may be disturbing to some viewers.
Here’s a new synopsis for “Bones And All,” courtesy of MGM/UA:
BONES AND ALL is a story of first love between Maren, a young woman learning how to survive on the margins of society, and Lee, an intense and disenfranchised drifter; a liberating road odyssey of two young people coming into their own, searching for identity and chasing beauty in a perilous world that cannot abide who they are.
Taylor Russell stars as Maren, and Timothée Chalamet stars as Lee in Guadagnino’s new film. Michael Stuhlbard, André Holland, Chloë Sevigny, and David Gordon Green also star. Jessica Harper, Jake Horowitz, and Mark Rylance round out the main cast.
David Kajganich adapts Camille DeAngelis‘ 2015 YA novel of the same name for Guadagnino. It’s their third collaboration after “Suspiria” and 2015’s “A Bigger Splash.” Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross provide music for the film.
Don’t be surprised if “Bones And All” ends up at the top of many critics’ lists as 2022’s best movie. The film gets a limited release on November 18 before it opens wide on November 23. Watch the new red band clip below.
