Got a Tip?

New Image Of Audrey Tautou & Romain Duris In Michel Gondry’s ‘Mood Indigo’

nullHave Michel Gondry's still-in-production movies always been this heavily covered by the press? Either way, after the relative secrecy behind the making of "The We And The I" which premiered at Cannes Directors' Fortnight earlier this year, the filmmaker and everyone else behind "Mood Indigo" have been happy to let press descend upon Gondry's latest film. We've already seen a batch of official stills drop and now we've got one more look at the film's leads, Audrey Tautou and Romain Duris.

Le Figaro recently sat down with producer and screenwriter Luc Bossi to talk about the film, an adaptation of Boris Vian's novel, that tells the imaginative story of a man who tries to keep his love alive after a water lily enters her lungs. "I wanted to find a story that has [had] legendary status for fifty years, and that may appeal to all generations…We wrote a very faithful adaptation, and it adds a layer of visual fantasy. There are not many directors who can realize this dream world," he said (forgive the wonky Google translation). As for Gondry, he says the linearity of the story (even as fantastical as it is) makes it in many ways a first-time experience for him, and that he was drawn the mixture of humor and sadness and science and imagination in the unique tale.

Production continues on the film, which as set pics have revealed, features some tricked out Peugeots (fun fact, Duris' brother is a designer for the car company). Check out a video of Gondry on set shooting a scene below, and if you're in France, mark your calendar for next spring, as the film is set for a May 15, 2013 release date….which is also the first day of the Cannes Film Festival. Coincidence? We'll see.
