"You can’t please all people sometimes," Miles Teller told MTV about mixed buzz surrounding "Fantastic Four." "When you shoot a movie, especially when it’s with this movie and Josh Trank (he has a very specific tone whether it is ‘Chronicle’ or [‘Fantastic Four’) but as an actor you don’t really know what kind of movie it is until you see them cut it together. Now’s the first time we saw any footage, and I was excited, and I know for the most part it seems like the consensus is good."
Okay, so it’s not exactly a glowing endorsement, but perhaps a reminder that the movie is still months away, folks should probably chill out a bit. At any rate, a few new stills have arrived courtesy of Empire, and one word being tossed around in regards to tone is an interesting one: Amblin. Of course, that’s Steven Spielberg‘s production that in its heyday was responsible for fare like "E.T.," "Gremlins," "The Goonies," and "Innerspace." And that’s the vibe being sought after here with this one, with Josh Trank describing his pictures as a "dark Amblin movie."
"…there was an Amblin-style approach to the characterization, and to contextualizing everything in a real world," producer Simon Kinberg adds.
