New Scene From ‘Inglourious Basterds’: Freeing Hugo Stiglitz

“You Wanna Go Pro?” – Introducing Hugo Stiglitz – Here’s the second clip of “Inglourious Basterds” footage that has hit the web. This scene from Universal Germany, is the sequence in the picture right after the audience is introduced to Til Schweiger’s defecting Nazi character, Hugo Stiglitz. That sequence (not seen here) is played out in a blaxploitation-like style with Samuel L. Jackson narrating and the wah-wah pedal-driven funk of Billy Preston adding musical accompaniment. This clips is subtitled in German, but worry not, its all spoken in English (though Basterds is probably about 45% English and 55% French and German)

PS, not everything you see in the trailers are actually in the film. This shot of Samm Levine with the M60 running through the halls of what is clearly the same place where Schweiger’s Stiglitz character is freed? (it’s also Levine’s Twitter icon) It’s actually not in the film and never do we once see it. At least it wasn’t in the Cannes cut we saw. If it was going to be in there at all, presumably you would have seen it in the above video sequence.
