Reality Bends In New ‘WandaVision’ Teaser, Promising Weirdness And A Good Look At Scarlet Witch’s Actual Powers

When Elizabeth Olsen debuted as Scarlet Witch in “Age Of Ultron,” we didn’t really know what to make of her powers. In the films thereafter, we heard a lot of talk about how powerful she was. Still, other than not dying the instant she tried to punch Thanos in the face in “Avengers: Endgame,” there was nothing specific or special about the red glow that emanated from Scarlet Witch’s hands. Until now, that is. The latest teaser for the upcoming Marvel TV show, “WandaVision,” promises to show us what Scarlet Witch can do finally, all the while providing a meta sitcom fun time.

The new minute-long teaser gives fans a closer look at the Westview suburb that Scarlet Witch and Vision (Paul Bettany) call home. But of course, Wanda quickly mentions how they are not really like most couples. For one, they don’t have a song, or an anniversary date, or rings — not to speak of the fact that Vision is technically still dead. And with the wave of a hand, wedding rings appear on their hands. The couple is then shown moving throughout the decades of TV history while trying to carve out something resembling a “normal life.”

Of course, nothing can be “normal” when it comes to Wanda and Vision, and the teaser really wants you to know that “WandaVision” is going to get weird. Like meta weird, if we are to judge by whatever Kathryn Hahn is doing as the noisy neighbor Agnes. The teaser also gives us our first good look at Teyonah Parris as the grown-up version of Monica Rambeau (from “Captain Marvel“), and Randall Park‘s FBI agent Jimmy Woo.

As a reminder, you might want to pay attention to this show, as Marvel’s head honcho, Kevin Feige, said you needed to watch “WandaVision” to understand the future of the MCU.
