'Nobody 2' To Begin Production In August With Timo Tjahjanto As Director

After a few years of waiting on word, it sounds as if we are definitely getting a sequel to the surprise action hit, “Nobody.” However, this time, we’re getting a new person behind the camera.

According to Variety, “Nobody 2” is set to begin production in August with Timo Tjahjanto as director. The only other information that is being reported is that Bob Odenkirk and Connie Nielsen will return to the cast. For those who didn’t see the film, “Nobody” follows the story of a middle aged dad who finds himself targeted by killers and he has to use his particular set of skills to save the day.

It sounds as if it is cut from the same cloth as something like “Taken,” which it is, but what separates the film and what made it a huge hit is the fact that the action is so spectacular, with an assist from the producers of “John Wick.”

But with the addition of Tjahjanto behind the scenes, there’s every indication that the action in “Nobody 2” could actually be better. Tjahjanto is an accomplished action film director, with amazing films such as “The Night Comes for Us” and “May the Devil Take You.” The former is seriously one of the best action films of the past 10 years and deserves to be brought up in the same breath as the “John Wick” franchise.

So, if you’re a fan of action films, you have to keep an eye out for “Nobody 2,” as it has the chance to be a high water mark for the genre.
