Are you ready for some vampiric scares this holiday season? Well, if so, you’re in luck because Robert Eggers’ highly anticipated horror film, “Nosferatu,” is getting the Christmas release.
And since we’re about six months away from that release date, Focus Features has decided that today is the day to release a trailer and officially kick off the marketing campaign for the film. For those unaware, “Nosferatu” is a reimagining of the classic 1922 silent film of the same name. The story follows a group of people in a village as they must reckon with a coming evil. That evil is none other than Count Orlock, a vampire.

As mentioned, there’s a lot of folks eagerly awaiting the release of “Nosferatu.” In fact, the film ranked #4 on our Most Anticipated of 2024 list. It’s also interesting that “Nosferatu” is getting that coveted Christmas release, as it’s typically a time for films that are either big blockbusters or Oscar contenders. While Eggers’ film could fall in that latter category, it would be a first for the filmmaker, as his features tend to get ignored by awards organizations.
The film stars Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, and Willem Dafoe. “Nosferatu” is written and directed by Eggers. The filmmaker is known for his previous features, including “The Witch,” “The Lighthouse,” and “The Northman.”
