In terms of the current state of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Phase 4 seemed to be used as a reintroduction to the world after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.” Sure, there are teases of multiverse shenanigans, but a lot of the new projects were used to set the stage, giving new status quos for previous characters (Falcon is the new Captain America, Wanda is the true Scarlet Witch, etc…) but also introducing brand-new characters, such as Shang-Chi, Eternals, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, Yelena Belova, and Moon Knight. And we’ve already learned where we might see some of those new characters show up down the line, but in the case of Moon Knight, the series ended with no real assurance of future appearances. Fear not, True Believer, Moon Knight is going to return. Oscar Isaac is promising it.

In an interview with Popverse at New York Comic-Con over the weekend, Oscar Isaac was asked about a possible Season 2 of “Moon Knight.” While the actor remained coy about returning to Disney+ for another batch of episodes, Isaac did confirm that his superhero character will have more MCU appearances down the line.
“All I can say is it’s not the last we’ve heard of the system that is Moon Knight,” teased Isaac.
The “system” comment refers to the unique, fragile state of Moon Knight’s mental health. As revealed at the end of the first season of “Moon Knight,” there are now three potential identities floating around inside the mind of the hero. So, which version of Moon Knight will show up in the future? Steven Grant? Marc Spector? Or perhaps the newest, most violent of them all, Jake Lockley? That remains to be seen.
However, this is the first real assurance that Moon Knight is going to return to the MCU. Previous to this, there were questions about the character’s future since Oscar Isaac wasn’t shy about not signing a long deal with Marvel Studios like so many of his colleagues. That means there’s no guarantee of a return. That said, with Disney+ always looking for new content and big films like “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty” and “Avengers: Secret Wars” coming up, you have to assume there are plenty of opportunities for Isaac’s Moon Knight to make an appearance.
If you want to catch up on all the “Moon Knight” goodness, the series is available to stream on Disney+.
