Got a Tip?

Patrick Wilson Exits Marvel’s ‘Ant-Man’

Patrick Wilson Young AdultTomorrow, Marvel will light up Hall H when they unveil whatever it is they’re going to unveil at San Diego Comic-Con. And next to "The Avengers: Age Of Ultron," the most anticipated info fanboys are waiting for will be regarding "Ant-Man." There are still lots of questions to be answered as the clock keeps ticking toward its release next summer, and today comes news of some cast members dropping out.

Deadline reports that Patrick Wilson, Matt Gerard and Kevin Weisman have exited the film. Is it a sign of trouble? Not quite. According to the trade, Gerard and Weisman’s characters were excised in a draft of the script (which we presume is from recent hires Gabriel Ferrari and Andrew Barrer). As for Wilson, the delays on the film after Edgar Wright‘s departure have caused a scheduling conflict. And we reckon Kevin Feige already has a replacement lined up.

But we’ll have to wait until tomorrow when Marvel brings out their special guests for their presentation, and more crucially, it’ll be interesting to see if they can prove to everyone that this will be the "best version" of the movie possible.
