'Peter Rabbit 2' Trailer: Domhnall Gleeson, Rose Byrne & James Corden Return For More Hijinks

Children’s movies have never pretended to be super complex character studies. So, when you come into a sequel to “Peter Rabbit” and it’s best described as Peter being mischievous and getting into various bits of trouble along the way, you know exactly what you’re getting yourself into.

As the new teaser trailer for “Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway” shows, Peter is once again up to his old tricks. If you watched the first film, you know that the rabbit is a bit of a pain in the ass due to his propensity for finding himself in various situations that lead to mayhem and mischief. And in the sequel, his reputation leads him to…run away. So, now instead of him terrorizing the people in his new, pseudo-family, he’s hitting the road bringing his bad boy behavior to the streets.

The cast for the film includes Rose Byrne, Domhnall Gleeson, David Oyelowo, and, of course, James Corden voicing Peter. The film is co-written and directed by Will Gluck, who returns from the first film. In addition to the first “Peter Rabbit,” Gluck is probably best known for his films “Easy A,” “Annie,” and “Friends with Benefits.”

“Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway” arrives in theaters on April 3, 2020.
