‘The Princess’ Trailer: Joey King Stars In An Action-Packed Fight To The Death Coming To Hulu In July

When you think of a classic fairytale, you think of the prince coming to rescue the princess and being happily married. However, not all fairytales have happy endings. From Vietnamese-born action filmmaker director Le-Van Kiet, “The Princess” takes all you know about classic fairytale stories and turns it on its head. The R-rated movie, overseen by 20th Century Studios, will feature Joey King playing the princess. King is known for her roles as Gypsy Rose Blanchard in “The Act” (2019) and “The Kissing Booth” (2018). Kiet is known for the martial arts crime-thriller “Furie” and “The Ancestral.

However, King won’t be only acting in this movie, but she’ll also be an executive producer along with Guy Riedel (“Wedding Crashers”). “The Princess” is written by Ben Lustig (“The Thirst”) and Jake Thornton (“Final Fantasy.”) The two have worked together before, with the short “Blood Soldiers: Interrogation” (2011).

“The Princess” will be produced by Neal H. Moritz (“Fast and The Furious” Franchise), Toby Jaffe (“Total Recall”), and Derek Kolstad (“John Wick”).

Here’s the official synopsis:

When a beautiful, strong-willed princess refuses to wed the cruel sociopath to whom she is betrothed, she is kidnapped and locked in a remote tower of her father’s castle. With her scorned, vindictive suitor intent on taking her father’s throne, the princess must protect her family and save the kingdom.

Dominic Cooper will star alongside King. Cooper is known for his roles in the “Preacher” (2016) and “Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again” (2018). The entire cast includes Joey King, Dominic Cooper, Olga Kurylenko (“Black Widow”), and Veronica Ngo (“Star Wars: The Last Jedi”).

“The Princess” will be available to stream on Hulu on July 1, 2022. Watch the first trailer below.
